“Supercuts” hair salons sued for promoting English language

In today’s United States, few offenses draw swifter retribution than “offending” a privileged group. That English-speaking Americans do not enjoy this privilege has now become clear.

Allegedly, some Chicagoland Supercuts managers instructed their staff to refrain from speaking Spanish, since this offends their (American) customers. (After all, shouldn’t we be offended when forced to feel like foreigners in our own country?)

Now Supercuts has been slapped with a lawsuit. You can read all about it in the
Chicago Sun-Times.

By the way: This is an opportunity for activists. Why not send a letter to Supercuts management showing solidarity with them? Tell them you’ll be patronizing their stores now that finally, someone has gone to the trouble to make you, a white American, feel welcome!
