Bogus Charity: Rockford Red Cross Helps Illegals, Terrorists

Last year, officials with the Mexican Consulate in Chicago used the public library in Rockford to issue “matricula consular” cards to foreign nationals in the area so they wouldn’t have to make the 90-mile trip to the Windy City. 

The purpose of the cards is to provide those illegally on U.S. soil with pseudo-official “identification” that can be used in opening bank accounts, renting apartments, and other activities normally reserved to bona fide U.S. residents.  Mexican officials are notoriously corrupt and will do almost anything for a bribe.  Thus, the cards often contain bogus data such as phony names and birthdates.  Many illegals and other criminals obtain multiple “matriculas,” each in a different alias.

Recently, the mobile Mexican Consulate returned to Rockford, this time setting up shop at the local Red Cross office. Susan Tully of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) says she is appalled that a private charity like the Red Cross is helping a foreign government make a mockery of U.S. immigration laws.
