There are plenty of violent criminals among the illegal alien population. But more often than not, police departments—bound hand and foot by orders from above not to inquire into the immigration status of suspects—play a neverending game of “catch and release.” The losers are the victims of the crimes, such as Kenosha Deputy Frank Fabiano (murdered), a nine-year-old girl in Denver raped by illegal alien (raped and sodomized), and a fourteen-year-old girl in Hamilton County, Indiana (gang raped).

There is, however, some good news, too. According to a report by WBAY-TV, the Milwaukee Immigration and Customs Enforcement office and the Outagamie County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Department have teamed up to identify and deport illegal alien felons.

The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department says screening its jail inmates and referring them to federal immigration authorities is working.

The Outagamie County jail says in the past when it would book an inmate illegally staying in the U.S., it was very difficult to alert and mobilize federal agencies in the Chicago office.

But now, it says with a newly-developed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit in Milwaukee, that process has changed…

“We’ve had about 90 people that detention orders have been issued on. Of that number, as near as I can recall, approximately 50 have actually been deported,” jail supervisor Lt. Ron Yow said.

Kudos to our friends to the north, or behind the “cheddar curtain,” as we Illinoisans sometimes say. If only the same kind of teamwork were possible here!
