Vote delayed on IL driver’s licenses for illegals
An article in the Courier News tries to spin the “state budget brouhaha” as the main factor in the sudden stallout of the effort to grant drivers licenses to illegal aliens.
But Senate Deputy Minority Leader Christine Radogno, R-Lemont, is among the key Republicans who had originally supported the bill but are now getting “cold feet,” as the article terms it, because of outrage among Illinois voters. “My constituents are overwhelmingly opposed to it,” Radogno said. “We have a number of illegal immigrants, and they don’t think they should be eased into the system.”
Joshua Hoyt, executive director for the Illinois Coalition of Immigrant and Refugee Rights, while disappointed about this defeat in Illinois, is nonetheless hoping for a victory in Washington. “It’s quite possible that all the illegals will be legal by November,” he said.
This goes to show how our battle must be fought on multiple fronts. The main one, of course, will be at the Federal level. If an amnesty passes, we’ll have over 10,000,000 (that’s ten million) Mexican colonists free to undermine our culture, our standard of living, and our territorial integrity, all with the U.S. government’s blessing. This is a battle we can’t lose!
