Illinois Muslims: Give us citizenship, Americans, and make it snappy!
According to a Chicago Tribune report, “delays in the citizenship process caused a spike in civil rights complaints by Muslims in Illinois last year.” In other words, you filthy American infidels, it’s not good enough to grant us citizenship–you’d better shape up and learn how to give us better customer service while you’re at it!
The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations received 412 reports of discrimination last year, ranking Illinois second in the U.S. in number of complaints filed. The number of complaints was up from 250 reported in 2005, according to a report released by the council.
Two-thirds of the Illinois incidents dealt with government agencies and immigration issues, the report found.
Muslim-Americans applying for citizenship often face discrimination because their background checks are not processed as quickly as those of other applicants, said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab….
The Chicago chapter started a program last year to track complaints and filed a class-action lawsuit in 2005 seeking to speed background checks.
It’s hard to even comment on this… except, perhaps, to say that we should treat Muslims trying to enter the U.S. the exact way that Saudi Arabia treats Christians, or the Palestinians treat Jews!
I wonder if one of them will sue ICE, win a fat settlement, get citizenship, and go on to commit some terrorist act killing thousands (maybe financing it with the money they got in their civil rights suit).
If this happens, I wonder how the press will spin it. Maybe as an isolated heinous act committed by someone who just happened, coincidentally, to be a Muslim.
