Waukegan city council fights back against illegal alien felons
The city of Waukegan (county seat of Lake County, Illinois), once largely white and working class, has been inundated with Mexicans, legal and illegal, and is now about half Hispanic. Unsurprisingly, crime has soared. In an effort to rid the city of its worst elements, the City Council voted 7-2 Monday night to authorize Police Chief William Biang to apply to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the power to enforce federal immigration laws.
Officials said details of the local program have yet to be hammered out, but they were quick to point out that it would not be directed at law-abiding immigrants but at violent offenders.
“There’s a perception we’re going to be cleaning house, taking people from their homes and deporting them, but this is strictly to keep undocumented and documented criminals off the streets and help the deportation process,” said Ald. Rafael Rivera, chairman of the Police and Fire Committee.
Mayor Richard Hyde was more blunt: “The purpose of this is to get those who commit felonies off the street and out of the country.”
Our comment: Yet another American municipality desperately seeking to do for its residents what the Federal government should be doing, but won’t.
Older people want to cry when they walk through downtown Waukegan. It was once such a beautiful city… some of the old buildings are still there but decaying. They’ve restored the old Genesee theater but we’ll see if they can make a go of it.
It’s so obvious–Lake County is one of the richest counties in the country with towns like Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. It has only three towns that are high crime, and they are the three with large non-white populations: Waukegan (lots of Hispanics & blacks), North Chicago (almost all black), and Round Lake (getting more Hispanic by the day).
I wish Waukegan well and hope they can clean up the city, but I’m not holding my breath. Except for the nice section along Sheridan Road, all the whites who can afford it have fled & they won’t come back until there’s a major change, which I doubt.

These neighborhoods have become unlivable for white people. They are fleeing, but to where? We’re running out of places to go. Our politicians aid these invaders at every turn. King Richard Daley has made Chicago a sanctuary city, attracting thousands of illegals. He doesn’t seem to have a backbone. This is very sad, indeed.

I thought by now the idea of white being a better race was long gone, sadly its not. Since half my family died in the ovens and you white people do not consider us Jews worthwhile either(even though I am caucasian) I suppose I am going to be backing the hard working people who have come to the supposed melting pot of the world to make a better life for themselves and their children. While I agree that violent offenders are causing problems and that there is a need for immigration reform - I will NEVER include myself in an group that is going to base this on race.
