Seven months ago, the Village of Carpentersville filed with Federal authorities for participation in immigration enforcement training under the same "287(g)" program that has caused such uproar in Waukegan. When Carpentersville Police Chief David Neumann followed up with the feds by phone, he was told that "nothing would happen this fiscal year."
